SANTA BARBARA AREA Ocean Adventures Beach Day Camps This is located off Santa Claus Lane in nearby Carpinteria. They have a surf and kayak beach camp, an ocean sport and safety camp and a marine biology camp. They are for ages 6 to 14 and run from 9 in the morning until 3:30 in the afternoon. The cost per week is $300. You are encouraged to bring your own equipment and lunch. Contact them at 805-455-6459. Santa Barbara Surf School Lunch, wetsuits and soft surfboards are provided for the students. Call 805-745-8877. UC Santa Barbara Surf & Kayak Camp Held at Campus Point on the UCSB campus. Campers aged 9 to 15 will not only learn surfing and kayaking, but also environmental education. It costs $100 per week and is in the afternoon from 1-5 p.m., however, morning care is available for an extra $60. Equipment is provided, but is limited, so you can bring your own. It's also advised to get your own wetsuit. Campers also play lots of games and sports on the beach. Call 805-893-3913.
