Real Estate San Diego California

Whether you’re looking for a vacation beach house, retirement home, or investment, real estate San Diego California is experiencing a return to reasonable property values and a buyers market, as is most of California.

Prices of the coastal beach houses and affluent areas have remained more stable than the inland suburban areas. As of February 2010, the median sales price according to Zillow.com is right around $366,000, and the median estimated home value according to cyberhomes.com is about $300,000.

San Diego is California’s second largest city and has year round temperatures generally within the 50-77 degree range. The ocean water is the warmest of all the Southern California beaches.

Besides being a very popular beach resort, San Diego’s other great appeal lies in its many cultural offerings and attractions. There are several colleges or universities, so if you are thinking of buying a place near one of them, there is the option to rent to college students during the school year, and to the throngs of vacationers during the summer.

Whether you want to buy a beach house for your own vacation home, to live in year round or to rent out, there is a wide variety of neighborhoods to choose from.

Coronado is an upscale little island village with a small town feel, accessible by bridge to downtown san Diego. The naval base also resides here.

Mission Beach is funky and laid back. Pacific Beach is very busy and popular with beach vacationers. It is also very close to Mission Bay, a boater’s paradise. The strip of land that goes between Pacific Beach and Mission Bay is ideal, as you can walk or bike easily between the two. Ocean Beach is further south than Mission Beach, and older.
