Legoland Carlsbad
Much Fun Awaits At Legoland California
Boat Ride At Legoland San Diego
Legoland Carlsbad is a major draw to Carlsbad for families with small children and lego lovers of all ages.
Also referred to as Legoland San Diego because of it's close proximity, this fun theme park is geared towards ages 2 to 12, but parents will enjoy the healthy food cafe and the relatively relaxed ambiance compared to most theme parks.
Then there's the utterly fascinating Lego minitown, with models of real places like New York, Washington D.C. and San Francisco.
To the left of the entrance to Legoland is the relatively newer Sea Life Aquarium which has exhibits related to the ocean and marine environments. A 35 foot see-through tunnel give you a walk through experience through the water. The aquarium has a separate admission that is not included with the Legoland ticket unless you buy a park hopper ticket.
If the weather is warm, make sure to pack a suit and towel for your kids, because there are sections for extremely fun waterplay.
Some hotels offer Legoland packages and even shuttle buses to the park so you can save money on the parking fee.
Tip: You may be able to find a discount ticket by searching online for the most recent discounts. In the past, Supercuts, Dairy Queen, Costco and Burger King have offered discount tickets (but not always). Also, these discounts might be more readily available in the Carlsbad area. If your child subscribes to the Lego Club Magazine, occasionally there will be a free child's ticket in there. Good luck!
To get to Legoland California, exit Interstate 5 in Carlsbad at Canon Road and go east. The address is One Legoland Drive.
