The relatively new Montage Resort Laguna Beach down in southern Orange County is perched on a bluff above a stunning coastline vista. Seated on thirty acres, every room has an ocean view and a private balcony. The resort is designed with craftsman style architecture.
They have an oceanfront fitness center with an indoor/outdoor spa. Babysitting referral is available and they also have a kid’s club.
Four sandy beaches below the grassy park on the bluff are there for you to enjoy, and tide pools are nearby for exploring at your leisure.
The Montage features a children’s pool, a spa lap pool and a mosaic tiled main pool.
What really makes this California resort hotel unique is its commitment to the arts. Besides being so close to Laguna’s abundant art galleries, the Montage displays a collection of artworks by famous Plein Air artists. Other artworks were specifically commissioned for the hotel and adorn the resort’s grounds.
Even if you don't stay here, it is definitely worth visiting. Take a stroll along the blufftop path at sunset or take a dip in the ocean in one of the coves.
2510 South Coast Hwy
The Casa Caguna Inn was awarded the 2013 Traveler's Choice Award by TripAdvisor as one of the top 25 small hotels in the country. Located on a terraced hillside, this bed and breakfast inn has Mission style architecture and lovely terraced gardens. The grounds are deemed a wildlife sanctuary.
As with most bed and breakfasts, this Laguna Beach hotel is romantic, small and intimate and not suitable for families or children. The rooms accommodate one or two adults. They do however allow dogs. There are only twenty rooms and they vary from "artist" rooms to one small cottage. Some suites are available as well.
They serve gourmet breakfasts and evening wine and hors d'oevres receptions. There spa offers Swedish Massage, reflexology, deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, couples massage and a therapeutic soak tub in the garden with ocean views.
The Casa Laguna Inn is on Pacific Coast Highway, one and a half miles south of downtown Laguna.
1555 South Coast Hwy
The Surf And Sand Laguna is right on the beach in one of the most beautiful beach areas of the Southern California coast. This hotel features rooms with private balconies with ocean views.
Thirteen luxury suites are also available. There are five separate buildings with a range of guest rooms, 167 of them beachfront rooms.
For dining on the premises there is Splashes Restaurant, which has indoor seating as well as outdoor seating on the patio. Splashes Bar is down below, and offers light fare in addition to cocktails and a great view. The hotel also has the Aquaterra Spa where you can get yourself well pampered.
Their beachfront pool was revamped in 2010 and now features cabanas where you can lounge to the sound of the surf. This resort is located south of downtown Laguna.
460 North Coast Highway
This Laguna Beach hotel is located north of the village and is a short walk to beautiful Heisler Park, which overlooks the ocean. It is a small property, with 21 guestrooms. Some have kitchenettes. There is an outdoor saltwater pool and an outdoor fireplace.
The Inn at Laguna is set up on a bluff with views of Heisler Park, Main Beach, the village and the ocean. What more could you want?
Each day they offer a wine reception, followed by a hot apple cider and cookies reception.
Beach towels and umbrellas are provided.
Another Laguna beach hotel to consider is the Pacific Edge Hotel. It is within walking distance to the village, with all its shops, galleries, restaurants and movie theater.
It is great for families, as there are several family suites with kitchens. A game room will keep the kids busy if the pools and beach aren't enough.
There are rooms with balconies, either oceanview, partial ocean view or pool view. Just open the windows to sleep to the sound of the surf.
The beach the hotel resides on is private, so you can avoid the crowds of Main Beach in summer. There is an oceanfront restaurant as well as two heated swimming pools and a Jacuzzi to relax in.
The hotel will provide you with beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas so you can lounge at the beach in comfort without having to pack so much.
1600 South Coast Hwy
This Laguna Beach hotel is across the street from the beach and the Surf and Sand Hotel. They have an outdoor heated pool and hot tub. Some rooms have whirlpools. Get your breakfast in the breakfast room and eat there or take it upstairs to the outdoor deck. They have their own parking garage.
