How To Get To
Del Mar California

Del Mar California is located in North San Diego County between La Jolla and Solana Beach. It's about 20 miles north of downtown San Diego.

Since the county fairgrounds and racetrack are located here, the area can get heavy with traffic in addition to regular San Diego commuting traffic. Luckily, the train is another option for getting here.

By Car:

To get to the Fairgrounds, take the Via de la Valle exit from the I-5 freeway and head west towards the ocean. Go to Jimmy Durante Boulevard and turn left. You should see signs for parking at that point.

To get to the beach from the north, get off the I-5 at Via de la Valle but then go lift on Camino del Mar. From the South, take the Del Mar Heights Road exit, head west, then go right on Camino del Mar.

By Train:

If you come by train, the nearest station is the Solana Beach Station. The station is at 105 North Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach, north of Del Mar.

The Coaster is the local commuter train, which stops here on its way between Oceanside and San Diego.

The Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner also stops here on its way between San Luis Obispo and San Diego. Additionally, there is a special train during racing season that goes to and from Los Angeles Union Station.

If you are going to the fairgrounds, you can take a free double decker shuttle bus from the train station during racing season.

By Air:

The San Diego International Airport is about 20 miles south. You would need to book airport transportation with a taxi, limousine or shuttle service.
