Del Mar California Real Estate

Though prices for Del Mar California real estate are down from a year ago, houses still come at a premium in this little coastal community north of San Diego.

For instance, as of February 2010, the median sales price according to Zillow.com is $1,175,000, and the median estimated home value according to cyberhomes.com is $2,865,000. But this median is because there are homes under a million as well as in the multimillion dollar range. Del Mar is a great little beach town, with a woodsy feel in addition to warm sandy beaches. The charming village is full of upscale boutiques, shops and restaurants. It's perhaps best known for the Del Mar Race Track, home to thoroughbred racing. The population is still less than 5000 people.

Solana Beach is another beach town just to the north, while world famous La Jolla is just south.
