Dana Point Resort Guide

Stay in a Dana Point Resort for the ultimate beach vacation.  Not only are there beautiful beaches, but also the Dana Point Harbor offers lots of waterfront dining choices and boating activities.

Some of the top resort hotels here include the Ritz Carlton, the Laguna Cliffs Marriott, the St. Regis, the Capistrano Surfside Inn and the Riviera Shores Resort.

Capistrano Surfside Inn

This is a 5 star resort across from Doheny State Beach, and Dana Point Harbor is close by.  They have a hot tub, swimming pool, fitness center, free bike rentals, gas grills on the balconies.  The one and two bedroom suites have fully equipped kitchens.

They also let you check out anything you need for the beach, such as boogie boards, beach umbrellas, towels, board games, sand toys or beach chairs.  This is also a timeshare.

The St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort

Proud winner of the Forbes Travel Guide 5 star, 5 diamond award.  This jewel is built with Tuscan style architecture and is located inland, but not far from the beach.

They have 3 swimming pools (including a lap pool and lagoon pool), a golf course, tennis courts, and 6 of their own ocean view restaurants.  There is also a private beach club, a full service spa, fitness center and a kids club.  A nature trail leads to the hotel's private beach or go by resort tram.

Riviera Shores Resort

This Dana Point resort is at the southern end of Dana Point, at Capistrano Beach.  They have 2 swimming pools, a full service spa, game rooms and fitness center. Villas have kitchens, whirlpools and outdoor BBQs.

Their address is 34642 Pacific Coast Highway, Capistrano Beach.

Ritz Carlton Dana Point

The Ritz Carlton Dana Point is perched on the 150 foot high bluff overlooking the ocean, between Laguna Beach and Dana Point.

The views are incredible. Most of the rooms have private patios or balconies with ocean views.  Each room has luxurious bedding and marble bathrooms.

Other amenities include the Ritz Carlton Spa, which has twelve treatment rooms, an oceanfront fitness center, yoga classes, pilates classes, tennis courts, and two swimming pools and whirlpools.

Salt Creek Beach is down below and the hotel offers free beach shuttle service.  Body boards, beach umbrellas and chairs are available to guests also.  Additionally, Dana Point Harbor is a short drive away, with all its boating activities, restaurants and shops.

There's no shortage of places to eat at this resort.  The Sunset Lounge has ocean views and you can sit outdoors in the sun and smell the sea as you dine.  The Market Place has pastries, coffee and sandwiches.  Restaurant 162 offers dining on fresh seafood, but they also serve breakfast.  Eno is a wine, cheese and chocolate tasting room.  The Bar is open nightly until midnight, or till 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.  Lastly, the Dana Pool Cafe offers cocktail beverages and snacks at the pool, but is only open seasonally.

Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa

Located up on the cliffs, this Marriott property is a AAA 4 diamond resort.  It overlooks Dana Point Harbor.

They have a full service spa and wellness center.  Activities offered onsite include yoga classes, ping pong, tennis, bocce ball, croquet, volleyball, bike rentals, board games and swimming.

Suites are available in addition to the regular guest rooms. This hotel also caters to businesses and offers luxury accommodations.

Other amenities include a gift shop, business center and a cocktail lounge with indoor and outdoor seating and ocean views.  Their onsite restaurant is called Vue, which features California cuisine.

The address of the Laguna Cliffs is at 25135 Park Lantern, Dana Point.
