Other sites that may list deals include TripAdvisor, Orbitz, Priceline and Expedia.  Everyone seems to have their own favorite, depending on where they are coming from.

If you are flying from somewhere else in the U.S., be sure to check out Southwest Airlines too, as they have many good deals not listed on TripAdvisor.

Which Southern California Airport To Fly In To

There are several airports in Southern California to choose from, so the following information can help with choosing the best option for your beach vacation. Sometimes, if more than one airport is convenient to where you're going, you can compare fares to find the best one.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
1 World Way, Los Angeles
This airport is just south of Marina del Rey and north of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and the South Bay area. This would be the closest airport to Santa Monica and Malibu as well. It's massive, with high security and long lines, but you can get flights from virtually anywhere.

Long Beach Airport (LGB)
4100 Donald Douglas Dr., Long Beach
This airport is convenient to visiting Long Beach, San Pedro, Catalina Island , and possibly Huntington Beach.

John Wayne Airport (SNA)
18601 Airport Way, Santa Ana
This is the main Orange County airport hub. Very convenient to Newport Beach and Laguna Beach. Probably the best bet for Dana Point, san Clemente and Huntington Beach also.

McClellan-Palomar Airport
2192 Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad
This airport is in northern San Diego County, convenient to beach vacations in Carlsbad, Oceanside, Encinitas and Del Mar. It only has limited service however. They have flights via United Express to and from LAX.

San Diego International Airport
3225 N. Harbor Drive, San Diego (commuter terminal)
3665 N. Harbor Drive, San Diego (terminal 1)
3707 N. Harbor Drive, San Diego (terminal 2)
Also known as Lindbergh Field. Great for finding cheap flights to California when you're visiting San Diego.  Also your best bet for north county spots like La Jolla, Del Mar, Carlsbad, Encinitas and Oceanside.  You'll have to take the train or rent a car or shuttle to get up there.

Santa Barbara Municipal Airport
500 Fowler Road, Santa Barbara
Six airlines fly out of this airport, which is convenient to Santa Barbara and Carpinteria.  It's also half an hour from Ventura.
