Catalina Island Hotel Choices in Avalon

This short list in the chart shows some of the most popular Catalina Island hotel choices in Avalon to help you start your search. When you come to Catalina, why not stay awhile and enjoy your beach vacation here.

Many of the hotels are in the heart of Avalon, within walking distance to the beach at Avalon Bay, shops, restaurants and the Green Pier. Others may be a walk up a hill (but worth it for the views!). Some of these hotels offer shuttle service.

There are so many hotels in Avalon for such a small community, probably because it is primarily a tourist attraction. Luckily, most are the smaller, boutique type inns, not huge multistory chain hotels. And not even all are listed here.  To help you choose, the following Avalon Catalina hotels are grouped by waterfront, short walk to the beach, or up in the hills.

It’s a good idea to make a reservation for a Catalina Island hotel well in advance for the summer months. The weather is pretty nice year round, so you might consider going in fall or spring when the island has less visitors and the hotel rates may be less.
